I'm pleased to finally announce the release of my newest solo album "Melancholia". To celebrate I've planned a really wonderful concert lineup at a beautiful church/venue in Toronto, and I would love for you to be there.

WHAT: Janine Stoll's CD Release Party w/ special guests The DoneFors (my incredible band)
WHEN: Friday, February 12th, 2010. Doors at 7:30pm. Show at 8pm sharp.
WHERE: The Music Gallery, 197 John Street, Toronto ON (www.musicgallery.org)
TICKETS: Admission is $16 in advance and $20 at the door. Admission also includes a copy of "Melancholia" as well as a complimentary alcoholic or non alcoholic beverage (courtesy of kind sponsors).

Janine Stoll wants to make you cry (but in a good way)

No, seriously, she really does. Her third solo album, Melancholia, says so right in its title.
If you need more proof, look no further than the press release surrounding Melancholia, and its upcoming release concert. Cleverly, or, rather, overtly honestly, it makes a point of suggesting that the talented Toronto songwriter, who you might also know from her work in The DoneFors, makes sad music.
Actually, the point is more that she makes sad, beautiful music.
Witness: The new album features intimate tellings of events from difficult and personal times, and is the perfect music for sad people.
The emboldened "music for sad people" is their work, not ours.
Witness: "Respected amoung [sic] her peers and revered by her fans, Janine's new Melancholia promises to delight (and potentially depress) music lovers from all over." Again, the emphasis and parenthetical point is all theirs.
While we'd love to spend a ton more time complimenting the one well-written press release we're apt to read this week, the points still need to be made. So here they are, below:
